90 Years of Specific Gravity Gas Measurements

For over 90 years the Ranarex gas gravitometer has been a trusted solution for providing fast, accurate, and reliable specific gravity gas measurements. With an estimated installation base of 30,000 analyzers, the Ranarex has a proven history in a variety of industries and applications. Designed to be easy to use, portable, and durable, the analyzer is an industry leader for ASTM D1070 standard test method for relative density of gaseous fuels.

In the field or on a bench, the Ranarex gas gravitometer is a valued tool for the natural gas Industry. A specific gravity measurement is essential for determining the composition and quality of natural gas and can be used in a variety of applications within the industry. Whether in production, transportation, or storage, specific gravity data is crucial in maintaining natural gas quality and safety standards.

Reliable and Accurate: The Ranarex utilizes a field proven mechanical measurement technique that compares the torque of two opposing wheels as gas flows over them - one measurement of gas and one of reference air. This simple, yet effective measurement technology provides an instantaneous response with accuracy within 0.05% of actual value over a specific gravity range of 0.52 to 1.90.  In addition, maintenance is simplified with no span drift and minimal zero drift.

Durable: The Ranarex is constructed of durable, corrosion-resistant mechanical components with no fragile glass or electronic parts, minimizing installation requirements and reducing the total cost of ownership. Jeweled pivots and permanently lubricated ball bearings minimize wear and virtually
eliminate servicing.

Portable: The unit can be operated from the floor, a bench, or hung from the wall with either a standard AC power supply or a 12-volt vehicle battery through a DC-AC inverter.

The Ranarex gas gravitometer is an efficient, low cost, low maintenance solution for measuring the specific gravity of a process gas.
